Continuation : New Extension finished with Bleaching Timber - Ascot Vale

Introduction - Mixed oak finished with bleaching and liming timber

At MyFlooring, we had the pleasure of continuing a project for a returning client. Previously, we had worked on the front part of their property, which featured Baltic Pine. This section was sanded, limed, and finished with a water-based polyurethane in a matt sheen. For the new project, we focused on the back area, aiming to create a cohesive look throughout the property.

Client Concerns and Our Solutions

The client was unhappy with the deep brown and reddish tones of the timber in the back area. To address this, we recommended bleaching the timber to remove the unwanted colours while preserving the natural grains, which the client valued. This process was crucial for achieving the desired aesthetic.

The Design for the Client

After sanding the timber, we applied a custom-made lime wash tailored to the client's preferences. This bespoke approach ensured the colour would blend seamlessly with the previously treated Baltic Pine in the front section. The final step was applying Bona HD water-based polyurethane in a matt finish, maintaining consistency across the property.
